Lykke Show

The small media company Myreze has come far from its humble beginnings, and it had already achieved many accomplishments within the industry before they decided to create something special during these hard times. By collaborating with Bergen’s own Ole Bull Scene, Myreze set out on an ambitious project: To produce the world’s first virtual reality comedy show.

Tough times breed creativity - and this is the time for creation

When a dramatic change in lifestyle for everyone happened in March of 2020 many were struggling, especially in the entertainment industry.  We believe such change ignites an innovative spark in all of us, forcing people to think differently and to search for new ways to survive. With most people working from home, and venues being closed - more time is spent on the internet now than ever before. This was a great opportunity for us to introduce Lykkeshow; the world’s first virtual reality comedy show by taking advantage of online platforms to have some fun and hire great local talent to host and perform in a virtual environment designed beautifully by our 3D team.

Exploration

The content of Lykkeshow revolves around current trends and themes like Tik Tok and humorous group calls, with the host Lykke Kristine Moen and her sidekick Sandra Spjelkavik having a fun time playing games and quick-fire question rounds, with segments including creative home-bound skits and musical segments that are sprinkled throughout the 30 minute program and showing what life during quarantine is like for the guests who included: Grim Fimland, Christoffer Schjelderup and Thomas Sӕvig.

Creating the feeling of a more personal production was key, with the viewers at home being able to send in their Tik Toks and have it potentially be played on the show and even being able to contribute to the continuation of the show by donating through the payment system: Vipps, to support local business.

Minimal Budgets

Lykkeshow was created on a minimal budget, with very few people, in a small amount of time, during a pandemic. An incredible feat for a small media company in Bergen. Having been no stranger in the past to tight deadlines and constrictions - Myreze knew this was possible from the very beginning, as an area Myreze has grown exponentially in expertise is within the endless world of virtual studios. From our work on CCTV’s FIFA world cup and Lost In Time, virtual reality set design is becoming a staple of our ability in broadcasting.

We did what we do best and created something special even during a complicated time. When everything stopped, we had to be inventive and created a brand new type of show from scratch to help people take a quick break from the bad news, and show the world what is possible on a minimal budget and a minimal amount of time.
