Al Arabiya – Morning Show

In 2015 Myreze was given the opportunity of rebranding the morning show on the network: Al Arabiya, one of the largest broadcast companies in the Middle East. This is not the first time Myreze has cooperated with TV-companies in Dubai. When Fadi Radi showed MBC what the Myreze team had accomplished with the 360-degree camera technique on behalf of customers like TV2, on their Sommertid program - as well as the mobile operator Chess, the choice landed on the shoulders of the Bergen-based company. The goal for this opener was to spark interest in the early birds of the Middle East in a joyful, dynamic and inspiring way.

Here we show our process of creating an insightful and easily understandable overview of the opener split into scenes.

Myreze headed for Dubai, prepared for their hottest shoot yet (literally). As part of the kit they had arranged two self-produced radio controlled cars equipped with camera mounts, a drone, a Range Rover with an eight meter camera crane, and a crew of ten to make it happen. As additional challenges the conditions were scorching as well as Ramadan coinciding with the shoot. Therefore the team also had the challenge of utilizing a team of actors who were fasting at the time, not able to drink or eat during the daytime.

It is a challenge to work with a fasting cast and forces us to split up the shoot, so that each individual actor does not have to stay out in the sun for extended periods of time. -Björn Myreze (Creative Director, Myreze)

The previous intro had been rolling across the screens for over 10 years, and has become part of people’s everyday routines. Creating something that stands the test of time while retaining some of the mood of the previous intro, as well as being a breath of fresh air, has been a tremendous job. -Fadi Radi (MBC)
